Tyndale House is a world-class research library and residential centre for biblical studies in a spirit of loyalty to the historic Christian faith. Although scholars and students who use the facilities make a contribution towards the running costs, it is funded primarily through the generosity of trusts, churches, and individuals who make donations for its support.

Since its founding in 1944, hundreds of scholars, students, professors, and pastors have spent time at Tyndale House doing their research and writing their books and articles. Missionaries and Bible translators have been with us to work on specific problems. The testimonies in the foreword of numerous commentaries, books and PhD dissertations testify to the vital role that the facilities and the research community of the House have played in their study of Scripture. The number of pastors, students, and churches that have been blessed and built up through all the books and work done at Tyndale House must be in the many thousands.

As well as research facilities, we also provide mutual support, encouragement and a place where people can concentrate, and work hard in a relatively stress-free environment. Tyndale House is not just a collection of books - it is a Christian research community.

The desk rent we charge covers a small proportion of the costs of this unique research environment. We are, to a large extent, dependent upon our supporters. Over the years we have been blessed with the gifts of many people who were convinced that the study of Scripture at an academic level and in a positive Christian atmosphere is vital for the church in the modern world.
